Storycircus publishes original children's stories, which we commission from professional writers, produce for the Web and license to third-party websites.

Our stories are a 'virtual library' for parents or teachers who want high quality printable fiction for children but sometimes lack the time or money to buy books.

We produce webstories for children in four age-bands: Pre-school (up to 5 years), 5-7 years, 7-10 years, and 10-11 years. Our stories can be used on-line, downloaded to your computer, and/or printed in colour as storybooks. Some are also available to print in black and white for colouring in.

We work only with professional writers. Among our contributors are Michael Rosen, Jenny Éclair and Terry Jones. We also have abridged versions of books by Catherine and Laurence Anholt, Tony Ross and Margaret Mayo. And we're constantly commissioning new work, so our library is growing all the time.

Our stories are designed for busy parents and teachers, and we aim to save them time and trouble. We do this by using the Web to deliver high quality stories that are portable, printable, and quick to download.

Our stories are free to parents and teachers. In order to make this possible, we don't offer them from our own site. Instead, we license stories to businesses that want to attract parents to their websites. Our clients include companies such as Channel 5, the Great Little Trading Company, Mumsnet, FathersDirect and BCA, and their reasons for using webstories are diverse:

  • to differentiate themselves from their competitors
  • to update their website regularly with minimum effort
  • to build deeper, stronger relationships with their own customers, winning their loyalty – and their custom

We also work with charities and NGOs (non-governmental organisations) such as Great Ormond St Hospital Children's Charity, the National Family & Parenting Institute, Save the Children (US) and Adopt-A-Minefield (UK). Generally, we work with the publishing or education departments to produce bespoke child-friendly content that is relevant to the charity’s concerns and

  • supports parents/ teachers working with children
  • raises awareness in the classroom
  • raises the profile of the charity
  • supports fundraising initiatives

We're multi-lingual. All our stories are available in English, and some are also available in Urdu, Welsh, Pashto, Farsi, Dari and Norwegian. We translate stories to order: clients select the language they want a particular story in, and we provide it.
